Stillpoint integrated life & body work was founded to bring together a diverse group of practitioners who share a common approach to health and well-being. Our methodologies are gentle and non-invasive, and are founded on the core principles of simplicity, integration, grounded support, shared learning, and practicality. In addition to private sessions, we promote public education through workshops and seminars, as well as through discussions and writings on the intersections of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, physiology, and communication theory as they relate to therapeutic practice.
A note on our name: The name Stillpoint was inspired by the concept of the "still point of support" in the Alexander Technique (see "Moving from the still point of support," by Tommy Thompson). The term also has specific uses in the martial arts and various healing modalities, as well as in some Eastern philosophical and spiritual traditions. With its connotations of balance, centeredness, convergence, and stillness in the midst of dynamic change, we believe that Stillpoint is an apt title for this network.
